What is a standard tip percentage?

In the US, 15% is considered the minimum for adequate service, 18–20% is standard for good service, and 25%+ is for exceptional service.

Should I tip on the pre-tax or post-tax amount?

Either is acceptable. Tipping on the pre-tax amount is technically correct, but many people tip on the total for simplicity.

What if one person ordered more?

This calculator splits the bill equally. For unequal splits, calculate each person's share separately.
